The luckiest | Olathe Family Portraits

It doesn't feel like all that long ago since I photographed Katie & Zach's wedding. I was dragging my feet about it. I, like most photogs, was still shooting film & was terrified something would go wrong & I would ruin their wedding. But, Katie talked me into it & everything went great. I went digital the next year & decided weddings weren't so scary. (I've shot 100's since- Thanks Katie!) Fast forward 7 years, 4 camera body upgrades & 3 kids to this rockin' family photo shoot. They are pretty much the coolest family ever. I had a total blast! They are all crazy photogenic. Ray, the oldest, even tipped me $.52! Clearly, I made an impression. :) Perhaps one day I'll be shooting her wedding & think, "man, it seems like just yesterday I was taking their family photos..."

A family that prays together...

Once upon a time, I went to college in Kirksville, MO. This is where I met my bestest friend Mariana. Flash forward... um, a good number of years... and as luck would have it, we live just a couple hours away from each other in Florida! [ALMOST neighbors] She finally talked her hubby Nathan into working it for some family photos. We took most of them inside All Souls Catholic Church & I LOVE them!! This is where Mariana & Nathan were married & both kidos were baptized. They are SUCH a beautiful family! [ok, I'm totally biased, but am I wrong?!] Soak in the good-lookingness :)

A few weekends back I was lucky enough to be in Boston for the home game of Beantown vs. New York. There is an intense rivalry between these two rugby clubs and this game did not disappoint! It was close the whole match, but Beantown scored 2 tries down the stretch to clench the win 26-10. Here are some highlights from the game...

My hands down favorite! That's the try line. Amazing reach!

It is always thoroughly amusing photographing Teresa & Carlton. They are so silly & fun- not to mention really, really, really ridiculously good looking. The last time I photographed them, they used the cheesiest picture I took and sent out holiday cards that read, "Hope your holidays are as awesome as we are!" Yeah... these are fun folks! [Good luck topping that this year by the way!] The hard part is actually getting one or two that capture just how much they like each other! [Which is lots.] So here are some of my favorites from this go-round. Enjoy!
